Heritage Audio’s i73 Pro Edge is a USB-C audio interface with two classic 73-style preamps, line and instrument inputs, and eight channels of ADAT Lightpipe I/O. Taking inspiration from the legendary British “73” console module that wrote the book on characterful mic preamplification, the i73 Pro Edge leverages old-school transformer-balanced, pure Class A circuit topologies to deliver the assertive vintage-flavored sonics that made the originals sought after by discerning audio pros for over half a century. Painstakingly developed over the course of two years by a talented team of musicians, producers, and engineers, the i73 Pro Edge is packed with sophisticated features aimed at the modern DAW-based studio. And since it’s powered by sophisticated DSP for real-time processing with imperceptible latency, the i73 Pro Edge provides unprecedented versatility for a compact audio interface. Peak performance from mic, line, and instrument sources
The Heritage Audio i73 Pro Edge transforms microphone selection into an artistic decision rather than a technical one. With 70dB of gain on tap, you’ll be able to choose mics for their sonic qualities, not their output. Finally, you can feel free to deploy your favorite low-output passive ribbon mic on quiet sources! The i73 Pro Edge also accommodates instrument sources via its great-sounding front-panel JFET hi-Z DI input as well as line-level sources via the 1/4-inch jacks of its rear-panel XLR combo connectors. What’s more, the i73 Pro Edge allows you to connect eight additional analog channels via ADAT optical. TRS jacks are also provided for connecting studio monitors and headphones.
 
Real-time processing via the DSP-powered mixer
The i73 Pro Edge incorporates an onboard ultra-low-latency DSP-powered virtual mixing console that gives you flexible monitoring through speakers or headphones — each with its own independent configurable mix within the mixer. But there’s more! It also lets you process your tracks in real time with an ever-growing set of effects based on Heritage Audio’s own private gear collection. You can even record both wet and dry streams from the mixer to your DAW simultaneously as well as insert third-party native plug-ins via the mixer’s Aux channels. Offering deliciously warm and punchy sonics and amazing operational flexibility, the i73 Pro Edge is a compelling value that’s just too good to pass up!
