The stainless steel IM Series IMDL2 Bidirectional Boundary Microphone by Earthworks is a low-profile installation microphone optimized for speech. It's well suited to a wide variety of applications, including teleconferencing, boardroom meetings, government and education panels, lecture halls, and more. The IM series can be custom mounted in a ceiling, wall, or table and provides great sound quality, flexibility, and ease of installation.

The IMDL2 features a bidirectional polar pattern designed to focus audio capture on two subjects on either side of the mic, making it ideal for use installed in a desk or a conference table, where several mics can be used in series for boardroom panels and meetings. The mic has a flat frequency response of 20 Hz to 30 kHz with a near-uniform off-axis response; this means that background sounds are cleanly reduced in volume without spotlighting or highlighting—resulting in clear, intelligible speech during critical meetings and discussions.

At 0.7" in height and with a flange just under 1.6", the IMDL2 offers an unobtrusive, visually discreet conferencing solution and is powered by standard 24 to 48V phantom power. The LumiCom touch ring features a red and green LED and is powered from 8 to 28 VDC from its RJ45 connector. For optimal sound quality, the IMDL2 should be installed a minimum of 18 inches from the edges of the table.
